Describe a change in your own words

Type what you want to hear, like “warmer, less harsh highs”, and the engineer makes a new revision of your master, then tells you what changed.

Updated

Above the revision list there is a box where you can describe the change you want, the way you would write to a mastering engineer. For example:

  • Warmer, less harsh highs
  • Louder and punchier for the club
  • A bit wider, but keep the bass centered
  • Softer and more open, let the dynamics breathe

Select Apply. The engineer turns your sentence into settings, renders a new revision named after what you wrote, and replies with what they changed. The controls update to match, so you can see exactly what was done and fine-tune it by hand.

Tips

  • Be specific about what bothers you. “The vocal sounds harsh” gives the engineer more to work with than “make it better”.
  • One idea at a time makes it easier to tell what each revision did.
  • Instructions build on your current settings, including any unsaved control changes, not on the first master.
  • Stuck for words? The dice button fills in an example you can edit.

Instructions can be up to 200 characters. If your sentence doesn’t ask for anything the engineer can change, you get a reply but no new revision, and nothing is taken from your free revisions.
